Would it be dangerous to drive with bad motor mounts?

This didn't just happen today. You've been driving it like that for weeks/months. Could something happen? Yes, but you have a better chance of being in an accident than having a problem while driving it today.

It might be okay, but honestly it probably isn't worth the risk. You don't want to chance getting stranded and having to pay a tow truck $100 to haul it away, and try to find someone to give you a ride and all that.

The engine is held into the car with steel parts that are inside the rubber of the engine mounts - It cannot 'fall' out of the car.

yeah should be ok, if you have driven on it up until now. Just take it steady, especially with acceleration and try and refrain from engine breaking, even if you knock the engine into neutral and use the brakes to bring the car to a stop.

I have to agree with Alexander. With engine mounts in such disrepair you certainly risk engine component damage or failure each and every time the vehicle is driven.

The risk of breaking components increases exponentially.

nope

I raised the engine to show just how bad they are, the other side isn't much better, but yes it is split in half!!! I am putting a new one on each side tomorrow (they arrive by 4pm tomorrow)but I was going to drive somewhere tonight. Do you think it is safe?
