First your car doesnt have 200 hp it is nearly 10 years old probably by now you are around the 180 range. second you didnt install a cold air intake you installed a ram air intake HUGE difference. Third depending on what manifold and exhaust will vary. you are running a 4 banger so with all of this made for the car and installed properly and the ECU flashed to USE all of it 20 hp? so you are back to the stock hp..
You probably gained nothing. You can't flow more exhaust without adding fuel, especially if you are actually flowing more air on the intake side, which is extremely unlikley.
Unfortunately, the aftermarket understands the general ignorance of the motoring public when it comes to engine theory, and exploit it in the form of slick sounding snake oil. Conveniently priced right about the point where people can justify the expense, even after installing them and seeing no tangible increase in performance.
And before I hear some stupid comment, either a before/after dyno test with THAT car, or a before/after 1/4 mile time slip from THAT car, is the only valid comparison. "Feels faster" is not quantitative.
You know for a fact it has 200 hp? Did you or anyone research the possible hp gains before you spent all that money? Were you looking for a specific number gain or did you just want some cool looking stuff to show off? So, you've opened up the intake (not really) and the exhaust. What about more fuel?
Your car came from the factory with a cold air intake! All you need to do is go to Advance Auto and pick up a *K&N air cleaner which fits your present cold air box.
You may see 5-8 horsepower gain on a chassis dynamometer with the other parts you have described.
No. You should have asked BEFORE wasting money. Did you noticed that all that have answered managed to capitalize their own names? May I ask, why did you not capitalize your name nor the name of the car? Acura is the brand. RSX type S. Then there is the issue of "..cars HP." Cars. Plural of "car" as in more than one. Incorrect grammar. Slanglish has infected your brain via the smartphone.
Hi age and wear have take away your horse power so the only thing that fitting a turbo is going to do is completely wreck the engine quicker. so a new or re-conditioned engine would be a much better buy.
Not a lot of HP, but I suspect a lot more dB. I hope you didn't spend too much. For info, the K20Z1 engine was rated at 210HP
I'm guessing 5-10 at the wheels at wide open throttle.
Normal operation, not much.
Probably around 20-25 at most. Enough to shorten the lifespan by 100k miles easily.
where will you get all this " cold air " for the intake ?
I have an Acura rsx type s and I put in a cold air intake, headers, and aftermarket exhaust. How much horsepower will this add to the original stock 200 HP?
about 30hp ,(old school guess)
consider wrap the headers, and run 91+ octane
Mobile1 syn oil recommended
....great car..........wow
