the egr valve replacement will greatly help the mpg,. all that sounds like it really should just been the egr valve, but you should be gettting a lot better milage now, same thing was happening to my 94 ford ranger, and we replaced egr valve due to lack of power, acceleration, and bad mpg. changed it out and now its good as gold

Yes, at 118k miles you are due for a tune up anyway, you'll see benefit.. except for the egr valve.. that may end up a waste of money

0-60 in nine and a half seconds? My Freightliner does better than that!

check your air filter too.... you should change your air filter every 12,000 miles or every 12 months which ever comes first. and that will help greatly. Also tune up will help

Only if the new parts were needed.

yes it will give you a mpg or two

They should but if you run fast they won't.

2001 Grand Am GT !!! 118000 miles. Oil change... new plugs n wires. New coil. New EGR valve. New PVC valve and elbow. My care was idle ruff. Slow acceleration. I replaced EGR n PVC. That didnt fix it. I then replaced coil that did it. Now its 0-60 in 9.5 secs !!! Runnin great. Will these replacements help me get my money beck in fuel savings. Before the repairs i was gettin 12 mpg.
