No. the guide s are there for a reason. it guide the chain where it is suppose to go. or else it will come off and your going to screw up the engine.
When the timing chain guide breaks it's because the chain is slapping and you need to replace the timing chain, gears, tensioner and guides. If you don't you'll be needing a new motor...or car! These parts wear out if you don't change your oil every 3,000 miles!
