extra alcohol for a brief run may not be too bad but you may get problems burning through a tank of it.
e85 should only be used in vehicles that specifically say you can take it. flex fuel vehicles.
AS alcohol concentration increases, fuel enrichment needs also increase. As it sits, E85 with the current calibrations of your system will make the engine go dead lean. If it does run, it will be very lean and as such will fry it. DON't do it.
The EPA thinks E15 is harmful to vehicles of this age. E85 should probably be considered somewhere between five and six times as bad.
Go fill up with some real (E0, if you can get it) gas.
YIKES!!! DRAIN IS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE unless it is a multi-fuel vehicle. It will do great harm to your engine.
Or dilute it with regular gas.
So I just recently put in 20$ of 85% Ethanol gas into my 96 Honda Accord Lx and was wondering I it will damage it? It is now half way full and I just want to know the consequences for this one time fuel up.
