rolling in neutral but not in first is normal don't worry about that part .is the kill switch set to run
Put it in third gear and see if it will push start. if it locks up, your engine is frozen up.
What does "completely fried" mean? This is some kind of slangy, exaggerated statement that has no meaning. Was the battery case melting and warped? I didn't think so. Some ignorant sales person in the auto parts store said this? A battery will either charge, or it won't charge. A battery will either hold a charge or it won't hold a charge. A battery has a lifespan, which depends on the temperature it lives in, and it depends on how you treat it electrically. You can ruin a new battery in 6 months if you leave the lights on overnight in the winter, and the battery goes dead and freezes.
If a salesman says: "your battery is fried" and then you buy a new one, I guess he made a sale!
Install your new, charged battery. Turn on the headlights. Do they light? If no, you need to do some troubleshooting of the wiring. If they light, turn your key to start position, pushing in the clutch pedal too. What happens? Nothing? What do the headlights do while "nothing" is happening? Lighting? Dim? Not lighting? After you give an answer to these questions, we can proceed to the starter next.
The part about rolling in neutral, but not rolling in gear with the clutch pushed in, indicates a clutch system problem. The clutch pedal needs to be pushed all the way to the floor. Are you pushing it that far? Half way doesn't mean anything. Too many people have bad ideas about clutch operation.
When trying to start the car (above), have the transmission in neutral and push the pedal to the floor.
Get the engine to run first. Then work on the clutch problem.
Okay, so i found out that my last battery was completely fried. I had ordered another one and when installed i charged it to 100%. so i held in the clutch pressed the start and nothing happened whatsoever. what could it be? and also to mention, when i put her in first gear and hold the clutch in and try to roll it, the wheels lock up. it only rolls in nuetral. all answeres are appreciated.
