From personal experience, you may have the heater set to 145 degrees. I recommend turning it down a little to cool off the car.
Peace Brotha
Maybe the water pump has stopped working meaning it wont be getting circulated and get hot. Are the fans working to keep it cool.
the car was probably so low in coolant that it overheated. the engine will circulate the coolant every couple of minutes, keep adding until it is full. from now on keep an eye on the coolant and oil level. check them both before going anywhere.
I honestly don't know anything about this topic, however there is a saying that WWI has always taught me... When in doubt, eat a potato
i would not drive it till it is fixed.
My brother just drove his car from California to Florida three weeks ago. He's away for a while and has allowed me to drive his car while he's gone (as the ball joint in my car broke loose as I was driving on Wednesday, and my car is totaled). I drove the car maybe twenty miles cumulative to the bank on Friday, and then another twenty miles to see my boyfriend earlier tonight. I haven't gone more than five over in it due to my accident on Wednesday. I'm very hesitant as far as driving is concerned, so it's not like I've been racing the car.
I attempted to drive home tonight and got maybe five miles before I started noticing steam coming from the hood. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. It was running a little hotter than normal but nowhere near overheating. In between halfway and three fourths of the way on the temperature gauge.
My boyfriend looked at the car and told me it didn't look like it was leaking, but the entire engine was wet with steak somehow. I purchased more coolant and filled the reservoir up. I attempted to drive it again and didn't even make it out of the parking lot before the steam started again (or maybe just continued from before). The coolant level was significantly lower as well, but it hadn't leaked anywhere.
I don't understand. What could possibly be wrong, and what did I do to cause it? Please help. I feel terrible right now.
