Why is my engine pushing the oil out of pcv.vales...oil filler cap?

There is blue smoke out the exhaust.but the problem is now...the engine is pushing the oil out the top of the engine...pcv.valves.oil filler cap....

Hopefully some sort of plugged up pcv valve. If it is an older model with high miles, likely worn piston rings. Worn compression rings cause blowby which is too much air passing through the pcv system that overwhelms it. Blue exhaust smoke is worn oil seal rings. Compression check will tell for sure.

Cranking compression testing is a back-handed way of assessing ring seal and not real accurate.

A superior method for that is to use a dual gauge leak down tester along with an air compressor.

I too would first be checking PCV line for obstruction and engine oil level first. Eliminate the easy possibilities first.

Piston rings are bad in one or more cylinders.Do a compression test on each cylinder to find the one that's giving you problems. You're looking at a very expensive repair job if indeed the piston rings need to be replaced.

I like Uncle Jeds reply a rebuild is a big freaking deal it makes since to make sure that it doesn't have too much oil in it before you spend money on a rebuild. If there is too much oil in it then just loosen the plug on the oil pan and drain some out... check the little stuff first and work your way up to the rebuild possibility

That's known as "blow-by", caused by worn piston rings allowing compression gases into crankcase and pressurizing it. Blue smoke is oil being drawn thru valve guides into combustion chamber and burning out thru exhaust valves. Time for a rebuild, sir.

I'm guessing it's time to rebuild the engine. If the oil channels are plugged up and it was burning oil anyway I think the party is over.

Could be to full of oil or the pcv valve is plugged up or the hoses/passages to the pcv valve are plugged up or hose collapsed or the vent hose on the other side of pcv is plugged or collapsed.
