what about the thermostat ? it could be sticking ! also maybe the radiator is parthy clogged up and not circulating very good ! change the thermostat and flush out the cooling system, especially the radiator and bleed the air out of the cooling system !

You didn't put any coolant in the radiator or overflow tank. It's empty.

Have you tried replacing the thermostat that can go bad also and make sure nothing is front of the grill block air coming through.

I have an 01 Aztek that's having some problems with getting too hot when I run it. I've so far replaced the radiator, radiator cap, and cooling fans.

The part that I can't wrap my head around is that the car is fine driving over 30 mph and stays cool as a cucumber, but if I'm in stop and go traffic the temperature shoots right up. Any ideas? I'll add more details if they're asked for.
