Maybe you do need a locking gas cap. How does it idle? You could have a bad injector. Check tire pressure. Could be spark plugs (when were they last changed). Your fuel tank gauge sending unit may be bad or inaccurate.
Lots of reasons, but without more info its a shot in the dark.
Uhh, 10 bucks probably will get you about what? 2.5 gallons? 20 MPG, yeah, sounds about right.
Really don't see how 10 bucks possibly gave you 1/2 tank.
Your fuel injection might be screwed up or a leak in the gas tank.
Needs a major tune up and pumped up tires
