Why doesn't my window lower?

Probably the wires that give it current or the ground wire may be loose

Check your fuses first. A few things to check. Can you remove the switch. Older audis you could push it out from under the arm rest there is hole and you put a phillips head screwdriver in there and gently push up.

Check for your car. Inspect plug for being loose or cracked, remove plug check for any charring.

Use a multimeter to test for current. Have assistant open door while testing does power go off? Have assistant move wiring boot between door and jamb. Often times wire short out in there.

Remove boot inspect wiring. If you have good power and no shorts there, you can try a different switch.

Maybe a used one on e bay?

Or depending on the cost, if you cant find the issue, theses odd things are good for a dealer or audi specific mechanic as they have seen this before or know better how to test.

Double yes

You need electrical work done; I'd love to tell you this is something you could do yourself, but it's unlikely.

yes

I have a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro:

My driver side window doesn't go down.

The driver-side controls still lower the other windows, but not the driver window. In addition to that, the light inside the door-lock switch is out. The mirror controls don't work.

I've noticed that there are times when I'm driving for a while, the light in the lock switch comes on, so I try the window and it rolls down; the mirror controls will work, also.

So, it's intermittent.
