Why does my steering wheel and brakes vibrate when I brake while driving?

Brake rotors out of shape.

if you have some aftermarket wheel bolt circle distortion eliminate that.

Get the rotors to replace, check the calipers and pads, have them (rotors) machined on the car. Use good wheels, no spacers, and no weird stuff, then dont overheat the brakes.

Happy Rotors.

Ask your dealer, they will concur.

Ask if they can put a good set of wheels on to prove I am right.

Check the rear brakes too for proper operation and good hard parts. not out of parallel.

Vibration could be the tie rod ends or the idler arm. Dont know what you mean by 'calipers grabbing'. need more explanation

warped rotors. if vibration is in the seat, its rear brakes. if its in the steering wheel its front brakes.

Clue. Rack and pinion steering in this car. I am going to leave this one alone and wait for a different question.

Might be a bad ABS sensor(s) or brain box.

I have a 96 Geo Prizm and when I brake I can feel vibration in my foot while I'm pressing the brake pedal and the steering wheel vibrates really bad. I thought it was the rotors, so I had them replaced and that didnt work so I know its not the rotors. The mechanic also found a bad transmission mount so he replaced that. Also when Im sitting at a red light and I let the car idle up a little and still have the brake barely pressed I can feel what I guess is the calipers grabbing. If you all have any idea what it might be it would be greatly appreciated.
