Oil overtime gets thicker and collects crap that will eventually stop things working efficiently, this is especially important on turbo cars as they're expensive things to replace.its a really easy DIY,undo the bolt drain the oil change the filter put the bolt back with a new washer and top the oil back up.
Hope I helped
Both of the previous answers are correct. The real answer is that an oil change will cost you $20, a new engine will cost you $5,000. If you have an automatic transmission I would also change the transmission fluid at about 50,000 miles. It will cost a little over $100 but if you are going to keep the car it is well worth it.
Because impurities build up within the oil and the oil itself breaks down, turning to sludge.
I've seen the result of a few cars that neglected all maintenance, including oil changes and in some cases, the engines could be saved ( after spending a lot of money on repair ) but others were not that lucky...the engine seized due to lack of lubrication.
Oils keep an engine and other parts of a vehicle running smoothly. They cushion metal components, oil moving units, and keep dirt out of the engine's combustion chambers. Without motor oil, the engine would seize up and the vehicle wouldn't run a mile.
Oil lubricates the moving parts of your engine. It keeps them cool by lowering friction and carrying heat away. Getting your oil changed regularly is probably the single best thing you can do for your engine. To reduce repairs and improve performance,
Lets make this easy on you to understand. If you don't change the oil and filter you'll end up walking!
oil has a few enemies, extreme heat, and contaminants. the actual oil is still fine but the additives are where the issues lie.
Why do you have to change your underwear? Because eventually something will clog up.
