I loose so much power when my ac is on that i cant even use it, Why?

What is the outside temperature?

does your AC blow COLD air?

Engines should have a system to improve the idle speed when the AC is on. If your car stalls when you turn the AC on, then the idle control system may need adjustment / checking.

When an AC compressor is engaged at least a minimal amount of additional of stress is added to the engine. However, if it is to the point there is a noticeable loss in power the barrings on your compressor could be beginning to fail.

It take some HP to turn your AC compressor, so on some smaller engines with low HP this is noticeable.

You can get a car with a larger engine as so the small power loss is less noticeable.

It's old and worn out.
