I spent $12 for an A/C O-ring kit for my truck so I'm not sure who would pay $200 for such a kit?
Most of the cost is labor but it depends on your vehicle. I was able to replace the compressor, A/C hoses, O-rings, filter dryer, refrigerant, restriction tube, and oil for about $350. The gauges, charging couplers, adapters, and flush kit cylinder cost me about $225. It's a lot cheaper to purchase parts and tools online. All of the parts and tools were top quality except the gauges were pretty cheap and the lens cracked on the gauges but they worked just fine. You can rent a vacuum pump to remove the air and moisture from the system after flushing and leak testing. I have my own pump so I'm not sure how much it would cost to rent one.
Actually you can do it yourself pretty cheaply after you invest over $1500 in equipment and materials, and a few days in training. Even the O-ring kits are over $200
Or you could just get a professional to do it for you.
I presume you mean on a car. It is a refrigerator and they are not cheap. The car is the cabinate.
