Open headers will make the most noise. A single 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 inch exhaust with a Flowmaster will make the most power with your stock SMOG Heads/Cam.

loud gets old real fast if you want to hear your radio. headers 3 inch pipe and 40 series flowmaster dumped at the rear axle is plenty loud

want sound.. run the pipes up behind the cab or dump out just behind the cab with headers 2 1/2 to 3" pipes and glass packs to keep it somewhat legal..

If loud is all you want, headers and straight pipes is the answer. But that will be too loud for most public roads and will get you pulled over often.

I suggest running at least a pair of glass packs to muffle the sound a little.

I have a 1978 Chevrolet silverado c10 that I'm going to put a crate motor in. What would be my best bet for the loudest exhaust? Just straight pipes, headers and straight pipes, headers and glass packs etc
