Discount Tire has saved me a fortune. And they are like Nascar when changing tires. Last two times, they took less than 10 minutes. I made appointments in advance. I even drive 90 miles just because of how much time and money they save.
Next to them, Sam's, and Wal-mart usually have good deals.
Check the websites. They can usually give you a straight answer on prices.
WORST luck I have had is Firestone at 3 different locations. Two of them I had to go back because they could not even balance tires right.
Discount tire has the best prices I could find, even better than Costco which is hard to beat. In addition when I bought my last set of tiers I ran over a large piece of metal 3 days later and did not have the tire insurance they sell. The replaced the tire even though they did not have to; they are great.
Phone around and get quotes from your dealer as well as local shops and garages.
Tire mounting, balancing, and installation is a relatively simple and quick job. As long as the shop has decent equipment and a properly calibrated tire balancer, it's hard to screw up this job.
Buy tires from a tire shop. Shop on line for prices in your area. The dealer will soak you. Tire shops do balancing and aligning.
The advice was good. Dealers usually take the car to a tire fitting firm and return it to you with their on cost. I always phone ahead and get quotations.
Costco, during the buy 4 and $70 rebate time . . .
I am told that I need to get all four of my tires changed soon. I am wondering where you would suggest getting your tires installed. I was told that I should go to a tire shop like Big O Tires instead of the dealership since at tire shops that is all they do. I know that I need to get it aligned and have some other things taken care of as well.
This is the first time I have had to get my tires changed and I'm wondering which tires are good and how much the tires would cost? and if you would also suggest a tire shop verses a dealership?
Thanks for any advice.
