Where should i start, interested in cars?

Most kids know nothing as to cars because they are not trained. However, all kids go to school to learn proper English grammar. What is you excuse for the really bad horrible English you used?

Buy any car you like

as a student mechanics i suggest that if you don't want to be a mechanic then don't take classes as it would be a waste of time if you have a friend who knows about cars go ask them or check out some videos on youtube and get a book so you can look stuff up

this is what i bought when i started college: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Principles-Maint...

check this guy out he's pretty helpful as well

The way to learn is not to watch other people doing things. It is to do it yourself.

I learned by buying a 97 Pontiac for $500 when I was 17 and got it past inspection. Don't waste time online. Get down and dirty. :)

There are 2 aspects. One is knowledge of general car implementation, such as how engines work, what CV joint are, etc., and you can do reading to get that. The second is experiential in that you need to know how much force to use, how to hold tools for greatest leverage and safety, etc. Otherwise people either strip threads, have things fall off, or get cuts. I agree with Filard that YouTube is probably the easiest. Mentoring under a good mechanic is even better, but is hard to find. Trying it yourself also works, but takes longer and requires learning from lots of mistakes.

I know in my area, the Tech high school offers an adult class on basic mechanics. It's aimed at people like you that want to learn how to repair their own car but not be a mechanic for a living. Maybe something similar is offered where you live.

youtube!! I'm not kidding. You can pretty much learn anything on there. I needed to take out my stock radio from my car and not only did I find a video for it but the specific car.

honestly i feel like "less of a man" i don't know anything about a car, i kinda know how to change a flat and kinda know how to change the oil, but even with those to things i would struggle with what to do next.....so i want to basically be the type of man who knows how to work on cars (not a mechanic) but know how to fix certain things, tune certain things, and just be that man who can do stuff lol

i know it sounds stupid but where do i start, should i actually spend money on classes or is there something online that can help "beginners"
