You don't need to worry about the rev counter during your test. You have learnt to listen to your engine and that is the best way. If there had been a problem your instructor would have told you. Good luck.
Sigh....
Man you really are in clueless land.... Revolutions per minute of the engine. Start looking at that gauge for shifting properly.
RPM = Revolutions Per Minute, Simply the speed at which the engine is turning.
Don't get too obsessed, as you said, you know when to change gear by the engine note and a bit of experience. 20 years ago only 'sports' cars had rev-counters, now people just expect to see one.
Not a driver but guessing Revs per minute ?
Im a week away from doing my driving test. Yes, I am able to drive and No, I dont really understand RPM. My driving instructor never really mentioned to me.
All I know is. When in 1st gear, you press on the gas pedal till you hear it getting louder (you naturally know when), then change into 2nd, then do the same thing.
Ive never really looked at the RPM gage because Ive never really knew what it meant or what it showed.
Can someone explain this to me, as simple as possible?
