A wheel bearing has to REALLY bad to make a grinding sound. You can take it back to this mechanic, but he's really not a very good mechanic. Read this article on how real mechanics diagnose noise issues without throwing parts at the problem..

well i just had a bad grinding noise a few days ago and it was the bearing. next time ask your mechanic for the bearing. my guess is he didnt replace it he probebly just greased the **** out of it and told you he replaced it. if that is the case you should probebly sue him and find a different mechanic.
Bearings usually make a whirling noise and gets louder the faster you go.

I had a grinding noise come from the front of my car. Mechanic said it only was the wheel bearing. He Replaced it but 15mins later the grinding came back. I'm taking it back but any ideas anyone ??
