Whats wrong with the car?

Can you catch those scratches w/ a thumbnail, or are they just wear marks? (normal) Problem is, took heads off w/o knowing why. Bar engine over with finger-pressure on top of each piston, if you feel ANY kind of click/clunk/hesitation, rod bearing or wrist pin. Watch lifters in cam galley, all going up/down evenly? No? Flat cam lobe.Take off water pump and front cover. Timing chain taut? Timing marks on cam/crank line up at #1 cylinder TDC?. Lots of stuff to look for, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've heard a broken flex-plate sound like a rod knock. If you can do mechanical work yourself, it's doable.

There's a reason why they call Dodge a Dodge. It's because you should dodge getting one at all costs.Especially the Dodge Intrepid!

If you like the car, put a "warranteed" re-built engine in it ! Suggest you go with the 5.5 (WAY better motor) ! ABOUT $ 3,000.00 TOTAL ! I've been a mechanic for over 50 years ! That car is worth having !

Hey uh, I personally prefer a good ole Dodge to any of that Caramel nonsense. But any who, what you're gonna wanna do is start saving all your nickels and dimes in a good strong Mason jar. That'll keep ya set for a rainy day. Now, if he said them rods are bent, well, by golly, you better believe they ain't bent. That man is a swindler if I ever heard. He ain't no do-gooder, that's for sure. Not now, not never. Take it from your old pal Don Demijan.

Ok I bought a 90 Camaro Rs. Its a v8 5.0L. The guy was driving it last year but oneday he noticed it sound bad when he crunk it. It will turn over but wont stay running I think. He took the heads off and noticed the cylinders had light scratches on the top. He told me the rods was probably bent. Can somebody tell me wats wrong and how much it will cost to fix. I make 2400 a month and all my bills equal 300. Can I afford to have this car runnng??
