Whats wrong with my rebuilt land rover engine?

Hi, WHY WOULD YOU INSTALL A USED OIL PUMP??? It most likely shot... replace the oil pump with a NEW one before you destroy your newly rebuilt motor. Oil is very important to the motor.. if you put nothing else into a motor you should put in a NEW oil pump.. Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gage and get a real reading.. if less than 10 lbs of pressure per 1,000 RPM's its no good..

good luck

Why are you asking us? Did it occur to you that maybe a Landrover tech could diagnose the problem? Looking through a white screen means nothing. Is the oil pump a good one, with low miles? There are plenty of variables here. What engine is in it? Gas? Diesel?

Talk to either Rovers North or British American both of whom have a good reputation.

They can help. The 4.6 gets issues with the liners.

impossible to say without at least a few symptoms . e.g. is it noisy? won't crank over? misfires? stalls etc.

ideally give engine type. size.year etc and land rover have an excellent user forum club.

I can't believe you replaced the oil pump with a used one.

First you ask a question without any info and then you update it and then end in the middle of a sentence. You have got to do better then that.

It's broke. Get it fixed.
