IT'S NOT THE CLUTCH...YOU SAID SO YOURSELF WITH THE OBSERVATIONS OF SLACK!!

YOU EITHER HAVE A BROKEN ENGINE MOUNT OR TRANSMISSION MOUNT. IT WOULDN'T HURT TO REPLACE THEM ALL. CHECK YOUR U-JOINTS ALSO.

SO THIS SL;ACK THING WHEN YOU GIVE IT THROTTLE AND BACK OFF YOU HAVE SLACK. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE SHIFTER MOVING ALONG WITH THIS BECAUSE THE ENTIRE ENGINE/TRANS IS TWISTING IN LOOSE MOTOR MOUNTS.

try polyurethane mounts instead of the stock rubber ones.

It could be slightly misaligned and the bolts may not have been torqued in the correct way. It also could be that the petal is pushing past center on the pressure plate. If the car seems to take off fine when the clutch isn't all the way to the floor I would say it is that.

As soon as you found the problem you should have stopped driving the car. any kind of rotational problem in the powertrain can quickly develop into serious problems when ignored. If destroying the car is acceptable just keep going. Crank up the tunes.

It is obvious you have a clutch problem. Get it on a lift and take a look. You won't know until you look.

IDK, you need to take the clutch out, then inspect all the parts. So many parts of a clutch can fail it would be hard to even guess.

I just got a new Powertorque brand clutch from O Reilly Auto Parts for my 2003 V6 Mustang installed about 2,000 miles ago. When i first got it, it drove buttery smooth and you could feel the difference. (old clutch was a racing clutch with a busted TOB) Anyways, for the last month or so, its started shaking the car during take offs. especially after the cars at operating temperature, or on a hill of any kind. The shaking has gotten progressively worse and now it shakes the entire car so hard the RPM's flutter and it shakes my mirrors. It even makes my tires squeak on the pavement. Then engine also sounds like its near stall even with 2000 RPM takeoffs and very little slip. If I slip the car to creep forward a little, when i disengage the clutch, it makes metallic bangs and clinks like the clutch is slapping into stuff. the car also has slack; like if i give it gas in 5th gear after coasting, the car lithgtly jolts and makes a soft whine/clink and starts accelerating. Anyone know whats wrong?
