Ford Ranger. Get one with the 4.0 V6, it's by far the most reliable of the V6s, and is much easier to drive than the 2.3 I4. It will be better on gas than a fullsize, and is more reliable than any Japanese truck (except the Mazda B series trucks...since they are just rebadged Ford Rangers).

I would say a Ford Ranger, any year. They're tough and not to bad on gas. They're also easy on the wallet. Good luck! :)

dont get a ford. and dont get a full size. get a dodge dakota, toyota tacoma, chevy colorado, etc.

f150 or f350...started driving the f350 at about 10...super easy to drive!

Nissan Frontier! There inline 4 cylinder 2.4 liter is a bullet proof engine. It dont have that much power but in return better mpg 21 average. I have had mine for 6 years and now at 240000 and still runs and drives great like when I first bought it and have only done regular maintenance nothing major . I have never been stranded nor broken down with it. I plan on driving till it hits the ground. Overall excellent little pickup.
