Don't go overboard on special funky wipers. As you say, it doesn't rain much. I'd go with silicone though. Won't dry out like rubber during the drought.

Just put a diaper on your existing wipers.

I drive a 2000 Honda Accord. I live in northern California, so it doesn't rain a lot but I do need new wipers.

I've been looking at Rain-X Latitude and Bosch Icon.
