Bolt pattern is the same between the 4.3 and 5.0.
91-95 was the transition period between the non computer and computer controlled transmissions. There were also changes in the electronic ones the first few years so just being electronic does not mean it will work. There are some combinations of electronics that can easily be swapped to work and other combos that can't work. You can't just put a older mechanical one in place of an electronic one because the same computer runs both the engine and trans and if it does not have the correct trans to 'talk' to it will be unhappy and not run the engine correctly. You may be able to use a later electronic transmission with an earlier engine computer that was meant for a non electric computer but you will have to buy an aftermarket stand alone transmission controller which is not cheap.
Also as noted by another poster you have to stick with 2x4 or 4x4 since they are not easily interchanged.
I know the 4.3 will bolt to a 4l60e, may be the same for the 5.0 but not sure. Don't have a lot of experience with the 305. They put the 4l60e's with the 350s so why not?
cannot interchange a 4x4 and a 2WD output shafts are different and would have to pull transmissions apart to replace them.. the transmissions are a 4L60E you'll have to stay in the 93/94 model year due to electronics the 4L60E electronics are different between the following years 93/94 95 by itself 96-02 03 to mid 06 and late 06 and up and wiring harness and computer are different. the torque converters will need to be replaced since different stall speed between the 2 engines and might have to replace the bell housing
need more info, 2 wheel or 4x4 long or short shaft, you can get any tranny to mount how much you want to spend, they make bellhousing replacements that will help you bolt up any gm tranny, hell you could even go cross manufacturers, what do you plan to do drive to work or play hard in the rocks and mud, daily drive id say 700r or 4l60 overdrive trannies, hard core th350 or 400
305 is standard small-block
305 is standard small-block, so add TH250 (junk), TH350 and TH400.
