What to do with this crappy car?

You sound like the ideal customer for a car dealer and auto mechanic. You can not take the word of a dealer on condition of a vehicle. My son recently bought a used vehicle. On the first two inspections of the vehicle, we found about $5000 work that the dealer needed to do on the vehicle. He had the work performed. On the 3rd test drive, there was a clicking sound when driving the vehicle. Obviously it was not coming from the engine. The dealer said that it was the wheel covers. After my son bought the vehicle, we found that the front drive shaft bearings were shot and was what was making the noise. Luckily the parts were only about $100 to repair. Rebuilding or replacing the engine WILL NOT FIX your electrical problems. IF OIL causes the engine to shut down, replacing or filling the OIL will not make the engine work any better.

Rebuilding your engine isn't going to fix the electrical problems - take it to a COMPETENT mechanic and get an estimate - take it to a dealer with a good reputation - all they see are one make of car and have seen the obscure problems more often. If the cost is too high to repair you can sell it to a junk car company and get a few hundred dollars or more. They pick the car up too.

To own a car with this many miles you need to either be a mechanic with constant access to a lift or close to it. Changing oil for a car stalling is proof of your ignorance of car intricacies. No insult intended. Just fact. You are easy prey for every non-honest shop out there. Get yourself a cheaper new car on a lease because it will never pay you to own an older car.

Obvious Electrical Issue. You must take it to a TRUSTED mechanic, at an actual Business Shop, and pay them to fix it.

Option 2: Craigslist. Part it out, buy another car, test drive before buying this time.

Junk it, its already high mileage. Break it up for spares,.

cool

for sports...

I got a car from a used dealership a few weeks ago and they told me nothing was wrong with it but the battery and they put a new one in it for free. A week after that, the check engine light turned on then the brake light . I paid $500+ to get the back brakes fixed and then the car shut down on me a couple days after that, we were guessing it was the oil, so we changed that. Then yesterday , a few days later, the car shut down on me in the intersection. The instrument panel doesn't work besides the gas gauge and rpm . The mileage last stopped at 193k and hasn't moved from there. So the miles could be far over 200k . Should I get my engine rebuilt or just sell the car to the junkyard?
