All 2008's have a CANBUS system. Buy the bulb from a Kia dealer. The slightest variation from the proper specification in the resistance of the bulb can wreck havoc with your electrical system. If you still have a problem, go to Autozone or other big auto supply store and get a free scan.
I suspect the bulb you took out had 2 elements inside and the one you installed had one I may be backward on this but anyway there are two bulbs identical to just glance at. One is a combination turn and park lamp bulb the other is a parking lamp only bulb. The two element version will send power back to the dash as mentioned.
It sounds like there may be a problem with the bulb you installed. Remember to always use the OEM recommended specs.

The bulb has a ballast check the wire and see if there's no electrical problem
The other day my driver's side turn signal bulb burned out. I went to Wal-Mart to get a replacement, and everything seemed to be working fine. But today as I was driving home from work, I noticed that when I turned on my left turn signal, the dash lights would flash. Right signal operates normally. When I brake, my dash lights would light up. When I get home, I check, and while my dash lights are flashing with the left turn signal, the actual signal light is not blinking. Any ideas? My car is a 2008 Kia Optima.
