fram filter and valvoline oil is all i use. never flattened a new flat tappet cam with it either. jegs and summit are both excellent places to get your high performance parts be it gm or aftermarket. good luck on the louver last one i had i found in a salvage yard
Oh jeez...an oil question.
Rockauto parts and Ebay have been great places for finding older American car parts. As for the oil I would use a high mileage part synthetic oil made by Castrol. Older engines do burn a bit more oil also you will noticed the oil gets dirty a bit quicker. More hp equals spending more money. If you plan to keep the car and are serious. I would start looking for a 454 older chevy block or a newer Vortec GM V8.
Bosch filters, and either Mobil One or Castrol oils.
Amsoil is one of the few true Group 4 PAO synthetic oils left - I use nothing but Amsoil in my cars.
What brands should I use? Is what other ways is there to increase hp? Is there a good hub for parts? How can I get the gm brand louvers that go on the back?
