Normally on a weekly basis you should check your engine oil and top up as required. The dip stick will have a Min and a Max mark. Most cars take about 1 Ltr to go from Min to Max. Most people will either buy a 1 Ltr container of oil to top up with and keep in the car or in the garage. Some will buy 4 Ltr as it is cheaper. I bought a 4 Ltr but keep a 1 Ltr in the car.
