I had this problem on the same gear on my car but the whole car would shake scary fast and hard when shifting at high rpms swapped the mounts and prob was gone mounts do alot for an engines preformance loose ones will let the engine n tanny move freely without any effort and cause to lose slight throttle response due to it shaking like crazy in the bay

A Volvo with all those problems and you're going to buy it anyhow? Please turn around so I can "virtually" slap you up the back of the head. After that, you can send me the money you were going to buy the car with and I can go on vacation. I'll have a good time and you can do what you would do if you buy that car. Sit on your butt and wonder why you did it.

if it was the mount you could tell from shifting from park to reverse it wouldnt only do it in 3rd that makes no sense

Ok so I'm am about to buy a volvo s60 from a private party, the car looks maintained and good. However, the guy said there is a shake when it files and gets into 3rd gear.

He says maybe a mount. I say maybe transmission. And how would I fix that?

Also. There may be a leak over the timing belt, but it isn't a seal. It was.checked by a mechanic... any ideas on which part? Thugs is my first car and I've been looking for for almost 8months...
