What happens if you drive a short distance with your emergency brake on?

Nothing to worry about. My husband once did that for 15 minutes and nothing came of it.

We need the year make and model of your car. Some emergency brake shoes are inside the rear brake rotors. Others pinch the rear brake pads. Still others expand rear brake shoes inside the brake drums.

If you were able to drive the car *forward, either the cable mechanism isn't adjusted tight enough or the shoes or pads are already worn out. Have your rear emergency brake mechanism inspected for wear at the *dealer of your car.

you wear your brakes out a little faster. you caught it quickly. as long as you weren't hearing metal scrape against metal don't worry about it.

nothing

but that should tell you it is not working if you can drive with it on.

I drove about 5 minutes or so before I noticed my emergency brake was on. I immediately took it down, will there be any permanent damage? I just got new brake pads and rotors and calipers, less than a month ago. Should I be worried?
