What feeds the coil?.?

12v comes from the ign switch in the cranking position. The resistor wire in the run position. They supply the + side. The switch, be it points, a hall effect switch or what have you, is in the distrib.

The primary winding in the coil is powered up around its inner core.

The secondary winding accepts induction, and the number of wraps makes the higher voltage. when the points open, snap!

Strange how many people cant tell that one to you straight.

THANK YOU , automotive TEACHERS !

Other systems have other parts and accomplish the same thing the same kind of way. with variations.

But since we have no Idea what you are working on you can figure it out in a book from the library. Or buy one, many sources on the internet will tell you many things.

Are they true? they sure sell alot of parts but people buy em.

and after they spend too much, then they take it to get fixed by the "bad guy".

So, say goo nite to da bad guy.

It all depends on the year, make, model, and engine. However, most provide power to the coil and switch the ground on and off to create the spark.

The coil is shot voltage in short spikes by the ignition system.

Mr. A.J. this is truncated, incomplete and not a proper composed sentence. It also tells me that you cannot or will not use Google Search to locate information. This site is primarily for advise and counsel.
