235 width of tread in millimeters

75= height of sidewall as a percentage of tread width

235 X 75% = 176.25 height of sidewall

R= radial

15 is diameter of wheel in inches

It depends what numbers/letters you have as some include Max load rating and Max speed rating.

You'll see something like 235/75R15

235 is the second width

75 is the aspect ratio (height)

and R15 is rim diameter 15" wheel

If you had asked that of the google machine, multiple sites would've popped up explaining it.
