That vintage was the X platform. Other makes that were the same platform were the Olds Omega, Chev Nova, and Pontiac Ventura. Some of the mechanical stuff should interchange with those cars but for most of the body and interior is going to be specific to that model and within a few years.
most are chevy or bpo(buick pontic olds). you didnt state a model so..... most makes are built on platforms, like my ranchero is a 2 dr station wagon platform. its a torino/ltd,etc, but a wagon model.
edit* your not going to find a used switch unless you pull it, its a pia to pull. they should be able to get the aftermarket switch assembly
Look the part up on Oreilly or Autozone and it will show what other cars it fits.
