They had many recalls for these during 2003 or so.
That 100K-130K mark is lucky if you go past it without major repairs.
There isnt any power adders for these, I have looked and it would have to be custom made and cost $5000+ for a supercharger kit to work, not to mention engine and tranny beefing up and rebuild too.
I would drive it till it dies or sell it towards buying a classic that you can add performance parts too and feel the power.
Good Luck :)
It's a waste of money. No offense but the Sunfire is not really a good car and the mods (or even the pain job alone) will exceed it's value. If you want something to modify, you could get a cheap Civic or Integra.
The car is not worth dumping money into. A decent paint job would cost way more than the car is worth.
No offense.... I would waste your money..... it's not that well made a car.. and there are not a lot of things you can do to it... save up and buy a car that has more aftermarket add-ons...
I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire, it has roughly 98k miles, I want to increase the performance as much as possible, I have a decent budget i'm willing to spend, but i want to know what i can do, as i don't know anything more than the basics. I would also love a price estimate. Im also thinking of a paint job. Prices on that as well please?
