Any fluid in a car/truck, other than washer fluid, that disappears for no apparent reason, means there's something wrong, and needs attention. With a bit of luck, there wont be much more than the pump & belt that needs replacing. Rent a car till it's fixed.
Don't drive it until it's repaired.
The engine will overheat causing more problems that won't be easy or cheap to fix.
The belt slips when it gets wet from the leak. Either that or the pump siezed. A siezed pump will eat the belt if you run it.
Come on Dude the truck can't say my water pump is bad.so it spits hiss and dumps water all over the damn place. When your Kidneys get full what do you do, yea, you got now, go put a pump on your truck and get on down the road..
Please don't drive the truck until you replace that water pump. If if fails completely, which is VERY likely, you will cook the motor completely.
They have yet to perfect a vehicle that fixes itself . . . regenerates parts . . . belongs to the right religious groups to BE HEALED !!!!!!!!! When water pours out of them.......when they squeal . . . . when the pretty lights on the dash flicker - - - there's something wrong......get it fixed and you won't have to stress about later.
Check the "weep-hole" in the bottom of the water-pump in-put shaft casting.
I have a 99 Dodge Ram. I noticed it running hot the other day, it was out of coolant. Filled it up, it was fine. Then 2 days later, which was last night, it ran out again. This morning I put water in before starting it, and I heard a loud squealing noise when I started it. Kept squealing on and off on my way to work, I work about 40 miles away. Today I put more water in and heard, and saw, it come pouring back out. A guy that was there said it was coming from my water pump. Then driving home I noticed my battery voltage kept going down when the squealing started. Does that mean the pump is bad? I need my truck to get to work, I'm going to buy a new pump tomorrow but don't know when I can get it put on, can I drive it? Sorry this is so long, I'm trying to be detailed and I'm stressing some.
