Washing car in driveway in california?

The nozzle is to shut the water flow while you aren't wetting and rinsing the car. It's my understanding in California, that washing your car at home is against the law since it releases oily grime onto the land- pollution, you know. Stupid, I know. The same thing happens in the rain so it's just another robbery. Go on and use the nozzle so water isn't left flowing that isn't being used.

Apparently you can wash your car in your driveway if you use a nozzle. You do realize there is a severe drought going on in California?

The issue is water waste. Take the car to a car wash where they recycle the water.

And I live in Florida: we have occasional water use bans, too. I wash the car once a week.....I use one bucket of water and a chamois to do it......no need to water the street.

As long as you use only hoses with shutoff nozzles to wash your vehicles you would not be susceptible to a fine.

having no water sucks big time....

I live in california, specifically the san jose/cupertino area.

because of the drought, I was told I cant wash my car on the driveway but I was also told I could if I use a nozzle.

What am I allowed to do and not allowed to do?
