Holding the steering wheel in full left or full right can cause problems. At full lock, the power steering pump generates upwards of 2,000-psi. If you hold it there too long, you overheat the fluid and can cause leaks in the power steering line.

You have not caused damage. Doing this all the time may load up the power steering but it certainly wont damage the steering wheel. Relax, cars are actually quite tough.

The only damage is tyre wear in one area or more if you do it a lot. It's best to turn the wheel when moving

not really unless you left it in that position for too long

This is a bit of an old wives tale. No damage ought to be caused and certainly not to steering wheel.

Potential issues doing this is like any powered assisted steering system ..lack of hydraulic assistance may? Have an adverse effect on the system itself eg leaks. Though this is unlikely.

Relax and enjoy your day.

Hello

I read online that turning the steering wheel full lock while the car isn't moving can damage the steering wheel. I was parked in between 2 close cars and I had to turn the steering wheel full lock while the car isn't moving/a bit moving but I'm worried if I have damaged the steering wheel.
