Troubleshooting 67 mustang turn signal circuit?

HI, first make sure all bulbs are good.. Yes the turn signal element and the brake element are the same in that bulb (1157).. Also there is a flasher unit it looks like this

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail...

It may be brass in color and attached under the dash by the steering area I believe.. it may be bad..

Now if one bulb is out it well cause the light to come on but not flash.. Since you don't have a dash light on I suspect the flasher.. I think the fuse is marked Tail/dash/brake maybe even radio/fan...

good luck

tim

If you replaced the "accessory" fuse you didn't get the right one. Get the owners manual out and read which fuse is for the tail lights and brake lights.

You also might need to replace the flasher unit (at least do that before messing with the blinker switch as they cost about $3 at any auto parts store).

Replace that rear passenger 1157 bulb.

Check your flasher first.

While I was driving my turn signals just stopped working not only on the dash but the actual front and rear signals. I think I recall the brake lights are also a part of this unit which explains why those stopped working too. In addition to this the rear passenger tail light is completely out while the right will still come on. Head lights are fine. The dash panel lights also don't come on. I checked the accessory fuse which looked fine but replaced it anyway and didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions for a course of action? I'm assuming I'll have to replace the turn signal switch.
