Transmission or engine damage?

So THAT was the blur I saw blast by me today! Seriously, a Kia at 120 mph didn't happen unless it was on the trailer of a run-away 18 wheeler! MAYBE 120 KPH, or 84 MPH, on a good day, downhill with the wind to your back!

Putting 3 doesn't mean car only sticks with 3rd gear. It will start with 1st gear, and it'll shift up to 3rd gear. Constant high-speed driving on 3rd gear will heat up tranny, but 17 miles is not enough for that. So, hopefully there's not damage at all. Check transmission fluid, change it if necessary.

There will be no problems, because this never happened.

120 MPH in a 4 banger Kia????? HA HA HA HA yeah, right.

why driving so fast? You have a death wish? Do you want to hurt someone? Not to mention the price of tickets. There is NO REASON TO SPEED AT THOSE SPEEDS.

I honestly hope you did damage the trans and engine.

Get off the drugs and stop dreaming. a FLYING kia I DON'T THINK SO.

the higher rpms should have been noticed and the damage should have been minimal.

you're OK no problems

time will tell

No problems...

We'll today I left the store and accidentally put my car in 3 instead of drive. I should have paid attention I drove atleast 17 miles on 3. I drove at a constant 75mph and floored the car twice once to 110mph and I think the 2nd time to 120mph. It was only driven at those highspeeds for a little bit off time maybe 10 to 30 seconds . The 2nd time I heard the car roar really loud when I let off the gas I think it was downshifting? It is an automatic car, a kia spectra 2007 4 cylinder ? Could anything bad happened I saw it once I got home
