Tire change?

Going to both a narrower and shorter sidewall tire on your Honda will cause major problems. Not only is the tread contact patch smaller but the 195/60-15 sized tire simply does not have the needed load carrying capability necessary for your vehicle. Not safe at all.

Need a decent quality tire for not a whole lot of cash? Check out the General AltiMAX RT43, only $66 bucks a tire in your proper and needed size.

That is a HUGE downgrade. Don't do it.

There is a 8% difference in speedometer accuracy.

Your engine will be turning faster to keep up on the highway, lowering your MPG.

Your vehicle will have less ability to carry weight. The smaller tires won't have the same load capacity as the OE size.

Don't do it. Use ONLY the factory specified tire size.

Also don't forget to search this on Google.

Too big of a difference, can't do it.

Im no professional but I dont think it will hurt.. you will probobly notice that it handles differently. . And smaller tires are easier to turn so your gas mileage could posibble go up too.

gas mileage will improve and 1-60 time will improve(as you are not turning over so much rubber)

the only difference is that you will be lower to the ground and maybe traction will be a little bad but nothing major.

I currently have p205/70r15 tires on my 2001 Honda crv. They're going to crap and I'm trying to replace them as affordable as possible. I've called around to all the salvage yards and used tire places in my area and there is nothing matching for me.

I was told by one of the people that they have 4 tires that are p195/60r15 and that it wouldn't do anything to my car to replace my current tires with these ones, as they're just a small step down. But I would like to get a second (or 3rd or 4th) opinion on this. What exactly happens when I take that "tiny step down"?
