Your problem is the condenser in the distributor is bad. Just as well replace the points while you are in there.
Points. Replaced cap and rotor and didn't look at the points? Stick a new set of points in and file the old ones clean for a backup. Condenser just makes points last longer.
High electrical resistance ignition wires and until you have the battery load tested to see what the reserve amperage capacity is it may not be as hot as you think.
I have a 1972 Ford thunderbird that just won't start. The battery is good and the engine is moving. It is trying to turn over but the plugs are just not getting any spark to them. Engine turns over but it just won't fire up. Carburetor has been adjusted and has fuel and air. Just replaced the distributor cap and rotor. It has new spark plugs as well and a new ignition coil. What could be the problem? Could it be the spark plug wires?
