"already got the code read. they said it was an oxidation code and not a transmission one. so its kinda odd."

no, sounds about right to me.

me thinks your trans is fine. me thinks you merely fouled out some plugs and an o2 sensor. prolly needs a tune up. and physical cleaning of effected o2 sensor. could easily be an egr issue. online at WOT-wide open throttle. egr should be off line at idle and WOT. that would foul/skew the mixtures. resulting in fouled plugs and possibly dirty up an o2 sensor.

FYI, TIP,

if you want info on issues on a given platform, we need to know what that platform is.

yr/make/model/ engine and trans options.

You need to know what the trouble code is to find out the specific malfunction. Just saying, "oxidation code" is not telling anything you can use. Get the codes read again and write them down, then look them up. How do you know they didn't see a transmission code (p07xx) ? If your car has a speed governor that works as a spark interrupter or fuel shut off, the code may tell that that is all that happened and things will correct themselves after the car get a period of normal operation. There is a chance that there was some damage, especially if there is no speed governor, but let's stop guessing and get to the facts. OBD2 code check. Write down the codes. Define the codes. Work on troubleshooting the cause of the malfunction.

Whenever the light comes on, that means information was stored that can help, so have the OBDII read for free at a place like Autozone. But the kick is good. The faster the transmission shifts, the less wear. When a transmission is bad, then it slips and you can no longer feel the kick. The kick is good.

You probably need a new solonoid or, unfortunately, a new transmission.

already got the code read. they said it was an oxidation code and not a transmission one. so its kinda odd.

GET THE CODE READ AT OREILLY OR AUTOZONE OR WHAT EVER IS IN YOUR AREA. I'M GOING TO GUESS YOU HAVE A TRANSMISSION FAILURE THAT PICKED THAT MOMENT TO OCCUR.

maybe has something to do with the catalytic converter, could be plugged up

its the automatic tranny thats what they do.

to 90 so I could pass this semi on my right that was trying to race me or something, and when It went into the last gear the engine kicked a little and my check engine light popped on. Now the transmission kind of has a rough time switching between all gears. Not incredibly rough, but it kicks back relatively hard if I dont take it easy between transitions. What the hell did I most likely do to my car? Also how could it possibly be fixed?
