She bought the car as-is, you don't have to give her money back - as a matter of fact getting a car checked after purchasing is just plain stupid - she should have asked if she could have it checked before making the purchase.
It's the buyer's responsibility to have the car checked. If used cars came without problems and a guarantee nobody would buy new.
Unless you wrote out a contract with a clause in it that allowed her to get her money back, you are under no obligation to refund her. In situations like yours, it is a buyer beware deal where the buyer has every opportunity to ask questions and learn what they want before purchase. You informed them what was wrong (and I presume they saw it as well) and they still choose to purchase.
Lemon law only applies to new cars. The law completely protects you and your interests, not hers. It is her fault for not getting it checked out beforehand, and when she did that, she made an agreement to be fully responsible for any problems, whether informed or not.
You sold it to her as is so it's hers. You don't have to give her the money back.
Used cars are almost always sold "as-is." If you had no contingencies on the sale (like, only if the mechanic says it is okay, she buys it) and didn't misrepresent thecar, you are under no obligation to take it back.
most states its buyer beware as in "sold as is " is implied even though you do not write it down, check your local laws. Does not apply to a dealer though. dealers there is a warranty and that is stated before you buy and there is a paper that they give and it tells what is covered and how long the warranty will be in effect
You are not responsible for it as its buyer responsibility to check the condition of the car before purchasing.
I'd just ignore the *****. You buy a vehicle used it's "as is" which means there is no warranty! Moopsta must be a welfare slouch.

check the law. I think there is a law that says old cars are sold "as is" so buyer beware (because they can't return it). Tell her about that law. She can take you to court if she wishes, don't encourage her to do so though, and the judge can make the determination, however do "not" give her her money back. The car has already been signed over to her (and make sure your tags aren't on that car).
all car deals between private sellers and buyer are automaticly considered as is so don't sweat it.
Are you really going to do this to a poor helpless girl? Give her money back you asshole.
