There is NO way you wouldn't have had an airbag light on if it was missing an airbag.
So either you missed that when you bought it, or they missed it when they bought it. If you sold it as is, you owe them nothing.
Privately sold cars are "as is" transactions. Tell the buyer to go pound sand. They aren't going to sue you.
The air bag was there when you sold the car to them .
What did they do with it ?
There is nothing they can do unless it was written and signed by you that car has airbag .
That blinking ABS light wasn't a clue when you or they bought it? So now they drove it unsafe for a year? Selling a car as is means it's the buyers responsibility to check the car out, even the most liberal of the state laws on this topic only goes 15-30 days. After a year, you are free and clear. The purchaser may have had them stolen out of the car for all you know.
How are they gonna prove the airbag wasnt there at the time of purchase?
let them sue they bought it "as is" and you did not know it was missing.
I sold my car about a month ago and the buyer just contacted me and said they want to sue me because the airbag was missing. I had no knowledge of this because the title is clean and the person I bought it from a year ago didn't say anything about it. The car is a 2002 Lincoln
Does anyone have any idea what will happen?
How much does it cost to replace the airbags?
Anyone have any suggestions to what I should do?
