If you were driving an old VW Beetle the radiator would never leak (they didn't have one).

Where is the leak on the radiator? If on the inner core it may have been hit by a cooling fan or something on the front of the engine that was jerked/thrusted forward

Next car should be a 1967 Cadillac, rear-enders shouldn't be a problem. ;D

jettas have a part that people call the crack pipe it is a plastic pipe that breaks all the time on jettas I'm not sure if the 2007 ones have it but I know the older ones have it a hard enough hit could have made it flex and break

tell them you want a new radiator or you will sue to have the bumper and radiator replaced as well as anything else that shows damage, they will give you the radiator to avoid more expensive body shop repairs to your car. if they refuse (and they might) the cost of a lawyer will be more then just buying the radiator not to mention the aggravation of dealing with lawyers on both sides

Don't know. I actually doubt it unless you hit something in the front.

yes an accident could cause this, and the insurance companies KNOW IT!

On my way back home from the accident however, I noticed my coolant light had come on and thought it was unrelated and I was just low on coolant. The next day I put coolant in the car but the light stayed on so I thought it was something electrical. It wasn't until a few minutes later that the temperature of my car starting going into the red that I thought this could be a real problem. I pulled over to see all the coolant I put in hours before was gone. So as I'm putting more in I'm watching it all leak out. I call the guy's insurance and they tow it to a dealership and a few days later tell me that the radiator is cracked but completely unrelated to the accident. But the light never came on and I had no problems with the car until right after the accident. So my question is could a rear end collision to my car caused a cracked radiator? I drove a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg edition
