Just try to be more careful next time. There's a reason it's illegal to talk/text on your phone and drive in most states.
Is your car damaged? If it isn't then the chances are that the other car isn't damaged either.
The chances are that you will get away with this. In the unlikely event that the incident was caught on CCTV camera and it gets traced back to you, just plead ignorance: You weren't away that this had happened.
Ok, so if you are playing with your phone, you are in the wrong, period, cut and dry. Your lucky- you could have hit a person walking. If you hit an empty car, you are in the wrong, period. I'm trying to figure out if you are trying to do the right thing for the person who probably works hard, takes pride in their car OR if you are afraid to get caught.
Anytime that happens just leave your name number and insurance information if the damage is significant.
I was backing out of a parking space and pulled out a decent amount. then stopped to put my phone down. and then took my foot off the break to slowly go into the car behind me. I don't think i scratched it, maybe i scuffed the right back plastic part of the bumper so it should be able to be rubbed away...
I'm 20 and first time having my own car and I was way to scared and didn't know what to do especially because it looked like there was no damage. After I've calmed down and relived the situation i realize what i just did was a hit and run... I'm terrified for what will happen next???
I drove back and tried to find the car that was there but they were gone.
Should I report this to the police?
Also my car is actually owned by my parents in another state, will something happen to them!?
I just don't know what to do.
