Replacing a walkman motor?

It really needs the right motor from Sony. A generic won't have the speed right

Hi this is not a standard dc elecric motor for a start. it is a servo motor which is controlled by a chip. yes they wear out and then it is usually a case of bin it. as sony like many manufacturers do not do spare parts. so you have no choice it is done.

A "dictaphone"??? Are you attempting to say, "voice recorder"? (Dictaphone" is a trademark and correctly refers only to machines built by the Dictaphone Company.)

Regardless, the answer is clearly "no". In the unlikely event that the problem actually is the motor, and even if you could find the correct size, rpm, amperage, and voltage replacement motor, it's simply not practical or economical. The last Sony microcassette voice recorder I bought wasn't even $20 new. I'd advise you to learn more about how simple electrical devices are built and function.

It's literally a walkman with a record function. It's a generic motor. I'm asking if it would adjust the voltage to the battery power

Today I bought a Sony dictaphone only to find out the motor is completely dead, I can't even hear or see it spinning. I'm new to replacing motors and if I buy a motor with a variable voltage of 1.5-4.5 volt does it mean it will only take what it needs? Also will it run at the right speed or do I have to buy a specific RPM motor? I may Just buy it and see if it does work seeing as the motors are dirt cheap on eBay and are simple to set up
