It could be two things. Is there an 'electric eye' across the bottom of the door? The door won't close if the beam is broken. It's also possible one side or the other came loose.

Or the door could be hanging up, getting stuck. If it hits an obstruction on the way down, it's programmed to stop and back up. This is why you never hear of people being sliced in half by rogue garage doors.

Check for dirt on the safety lights also. This happened on

my dads Genie. During the fall the sun shines directly into

one of my safety lights and the door won't go down. I have

two sets, one properly mounted and another on the ceiling

for backup on sunny fall days. They are connected together

by a double throw switch.

It could also be a seized wheel on the garage door or one of the wheel axels is crooked making the wheel bind .

Your electric eyes could be out of line or something might be too close to the eyes and obstruct it .

Try checking to see if there is anything blocking the lasers, of there is remove the thing blocking it. I would also call a repair man to do it, most of the time in these cases gotta call the repair man.

Remote opens garage door fine. When using remote to close it, it starts making contact and then goes back up, with overhead light blinking. To actually close the door, I have to push the button inside and keep it pushed in until the door is all the way closed. If I just push the button to close the door and then release button, it opens up again.
